Skelly bids a fond adieu to Lawyer Guy, who is leaving the blogosphere. Skelly reprints one of Lawyer Guy's last posts about his dissatisfaction with mega law as practiced today. Lawyer Guy makes several notes about how crappy practice is in large firms. Having, in a former life, practiced in a larger firm, I would tend to agree. I remember one evening when a partner came into my office to chew my ass about a letter to an adjustor that had not been written. He ripped me up one side and down the other. I knew that I had done the letter but did not know where it was. I came back the next day and it was in the stack of dictation on my desk for me to sign. I had done the letter but it was on my secretary's desk awaiting transcribing. I took it to him and pointed out that I had done it and he sort of shrugged, saying, "Yeah, whatever". I am really glad that I do not work for a large firm anymore. I hope Lawyer Guy finds his way in the legal world, or out of the legal world if that is the case.
